Referral Program
We are very pleased to offer to our existing parents the opportunity to receive a tuition credit for referring a new family to Kid Kampus! If you refer a family to us and they indicate your name on the registration form, you will receive a tuition credit equal to four weeks of the new family’s tuition after the new child is enrolled for 60 days! This is subject to available enrollment space for the new child.
Enrollment
The New York State Office of Child and Family Services (NYSOCFS) requires several forms to be completed and submitted to the Director before your child begins. Parents are encouraged to visit Kid Kampus with their child prior to their starting day. Tours of Kid Kampus can be scheduled by calling our Director at 518-371-0502.
The schedule for all children should be as consistent as possible from week to week. Staff hours are assigned in varying shifts, to ensure adequate staffing so that staff/child ratios are met. Please let us know about any changes in arrival or pick up times that differ from your child’s normal schedule.
Each spring we re-enroll for the upcoming summer and fall programs. Enrollment is first come, first served due to the limited number of spaces in the program.
Tuition
Tuition payments are due to Kid Kampus each Monday or the first day of your child’s week. Fees are due in advance for vacation days. If a child is sick on the day that tuition is due, the tuition payment is expected on the day of their return. A late payment fee may be charged to your account if your payment has not been received by the closing on Wednesday of the current week. If your payment is not received by the Friday of the second week, your child may be dis-enrolled from Kid Kampus.
Tuition may be paid by check, cash, money order or certified check. You may also opt to pay on-line. You will be notified of additional fees for returned checks.
Withdrawal
Two weeks written notice is required should a parent elect to withdraw a child for any reason. We would appreciate as much time as possible.
Arrival and Departure
Upon pick up, parents or authorized adults are required to sign out their child in your child’s classroom. Once a parent signs their child out, the parent is then solely responsible for supervising their child while on Kid Kampus premises. Parents are required to handle all business questions prior to signing out their child.
Only persons designated on the Child Release Form will be allowed to pick up your child. If someone other than immediate family is picking up your child, they must show picture ID. You will also need to write the full name of the person who is picking up your child on the daily sign in sheet and inform the teacher. If during the day you decide that someone other than the person on the sign in sheet will be picking up your child, you are required to contact Kid Kampus. If the person designated to pick up your child is not on the Child Release Form, a written permission will be required before departure. Your child’s safety is an utmost priority for us at Kid Kampus.
For our after school children, we offer a unique call-ahead service. Parents can call when they are minutes away from Kid Kampus and we will have your child ready for pick up. You can simply pull up to the entrance and we will escort your child to the vehicle. There is no need to park and come into Kid Kampus unless you would prefer to!
Dress Code
Children are engaged in various activities during the course of the day. Some of the activities can be messy and/or athletic in nature. For this reason, favorite clothing should be saved for home use. Children are engaged in outdoor play daily (weather permitting) or gross motor activities in the gym. Due to these activities, children need to be dressed in seasonably appropriate, comfortable clothing. Coats, hats, gloves, and winter boots must be provided in the winter months. During the summer months, we request sun block and sun hats to protect your pre-school child from the sun.
We strongly suggest that your child does not wear open toed and/or open backed shoes to Kid Kampus for safety reasons, especially on the playground. Rubber-soled sneakers are the most appropriate type of shoes for participation in motor activities.
All clothing items must be clearly labeled with the child’s first and last name. This includes coats, hats, gloves, scarves, and boots. Kid Kampus is not responsible for lost or damaged items of clothing or personal belongings.
Family Communication
Strong parent-teacher partnerships are an essential part of our programs at Kid Kampus. We welcome parents and grandparents to visit or call at any time of the day.
There are general monthly newsletters on our website, which should be read regularly to check for important information. Parents are asked to notify Kid Kampus when changing their normal arrival or departure times. Additionally, we would appreciate notice of planned vacations.
Parent Participation
Parents are invited and encouraged to be involved in their child’s preschool activities. There are many different ways in which parents can participate at Kid Kampus. Parents may volunteer to attend trips, read in the classroom, and assist teachers in special events. We welcome you to share your talents, interests or professional knowledge. Please coordinate any special visits with your child’s teacher.
Parent Conduct
Kid Kampus prides itself with providing your child with the best possible home away from home experience. We require the parents and guests of enrolled children at all times to behave in a manner consistent with decency, courtesy, and respect. We must be concerned for the safety and well-being of all children and staff. When a parent or child’s behavior threatens the safety of another child or staff member or becomes verbally or physically aggressive toward someone else, we may dis-enroll the child. We will make every effort to work with your family when a problem arises. However, if we cannot resolve the problem, Kid Kampus reserves the right at any time to dis-enroll a child as deemed necessary.
Child Custody
All parents are entitled to immediate access to their child whenever they are in care at Kid Kampus, as provided by law.
In cases where the child is the subject of a court order, Kid Kampus must be provided with a certified copy of the most recent order and all amendments. The orders of the court will be strictly followed.
In the absence of a court order on file at Kid Kampus, both parents shall be given equal access to their child as stipulated by law. Kid Kampus, cannot, without a court order, limit the access of one parent by request of the other parent, regardless of the reason.
Kampus Closings
Kid Kampus will be open during normal operating hours on a regularly scheduled day. In celebration of the following holidays, Kid Kampus will be closed on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. If one of these holidays falls on a Saturday or Sunday, we will celebrate the holiday on either Friday or Monday. Kid Kampus will close early at 3:00PM on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Kid Kampus will not provide child care services on the following holidays: President’s Day, Columbus Day, and Veteran’s Day due to mandated staff development training. These trainings are required by NYSOCFS. Your tuition rate will not change due to these trainings days.
For the safety of our families and staff, Kid Kampus will implement weather and snow delay policies whenever necessary. This will be determined by the Shenendehowa School District. If the school district is on a one hour delay, Kid Kampus will open one hour later than normal. If the school district is on a two hour delay, Kid Kampus will open two hours later than normal. If Shenendehowa Central Schools has canceled school, Kid Kampus will open at noon. If there is a state of emergency, Kid Kampus will close. Please check your local news station for any other weather delays.
Confidentiality
Kid Kampus takes very seriously the responsibility of maintaining the confidentiality of all persons associated with the center. Parents must recognize that the confidentiality policy not only applies to their child or family, but all children, families, and employees associated with Kid Kampus. Any person who shares information which is considered to be confidential will be considered to be in violation of the Confidentiality Policy and may be dismissed.
